Westerly woman crashes into house on White Rock Rd.

WESTERLY, RI – Police issued a citation to a woman in Westerly after she crashed into an abandoned house and then fled the scene, reports 10 WJAR.

The incident happened just before 3 p.m. on White Rock Road near Bridge Road.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, identified as Kate Killingsworth, returned to her car while crews were responding to the scene. She explained that she felt anxious and went home after hitting the structure with her vehicle. She claimed to have lost control of her vehicle when a truck cut her off near the intersection of White Rock and Bridge Road.

Killingsworth did not sustain any injuries in the accident. She received citations for multiple offenses, including leaving the scene of an accident, operating a car without liability insurance, and operating a car with expired registration.
