Narrative

LINCOLN, RI – A 28-year-old woman went to the hospital Friday night after a head-on crash caused by an alleged DUI driver in east-central Providence County.

The incident happened around 10:50 p.m. on RI-146 in Lincoln, not far from Lincoln Woods State Park.

The investigation indicates that a southbound driver entered a northbound lane of RI-146 and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, a woman from Woonsocket, sustained non-critical injuries.

Police say the wrong-way driver, identified as 38-year-old Carlos Gonzalez Carrillo, was likely intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Carrillo will likely face charges in connection to the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
