Motorcyclist killed in Warwick collision with 18-wheeler

WARWICK, RI – A 53-year-old motorcyclist died early Thursday morning after crashing into a tractor-trailer in eastern Kent County, reports abc6.

Police say the incident happened just after 1 a.m. on Quaker Lane, or RI-2.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a southbound motorcyclist was unable to stop his Kawasaki when an 18-wheeler entered Quaker Lane from a parking lot. The motorcyclist struck the rear of the semi-truck and was ejected forcefully from his bike.

The victim, identified as Christopher Reddick from North Kingstown, was not wearing a helmet and died after transport to a local hospital.

Injuries have not been reported for the truck driver, and police do not suspect impairment.
