Car crashes into patio at Warwick eatery, injuring 2

WARWICK, RI – Two people went to the hospital after a vehicle crashed into the outdoor dining section of a restaurant in Warwick on Friday afternoon, reports The Providence Journal.

Police say the incident happened around 2 p.m. at Tommy’s Clam Shack, which is located at 2247 Warwick Avenue. The cross street for the establishment is Stillwater Drive.

An initial investigation revealed that a woman accelerated in the parking lot of the restaurant before hitting two diners.

Medics transported two people to the hospital, one of whom sustained critical injuries.

The incident remains under investigation with law enforcement.
