PROVIDENCE, RI – Officials are reporting a fatality linked to a crash involving an Amtrak train in the Olneyville area of Providence.
The accident happened early Thursday on the tracks that run just east of Dike Street and west of I-10.
Police say that an MBTA train struck and killed a pedestrian. They’ve not yet released the name of the victim.
No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the wreck.
Commuters experienced train delays Thursday morning while crews re-routed passengers and responded to the scene.
