PROVIDENCE, RI – Crews reported to the scene of a major accident along the highway in the Charles area of Providence on Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened sometime before 2:12 p.m. at RI-146 north bound and Exit 1 to Branch Avenue.
Police haven’t yet shared any details regarding the circumstances of the accident except to say that it blocked the left and right shoulders on RI-146 as well as the left lane of traffic.
Motorists likely experienced delays along the highway in this area while crews worked to clear the scene and gather evidence.
