Narrative

PROVIDENCE, RI – The driver of a box truck went to the hospital on Monday after crashing into an electric pole along a busy Providence roadway.

The incident happened on Ashburton Street near Snookers Sports Billiards Bar and Grill between Highway 146 and I-95.

It’s unclear what caused the driver of the truck to lose control, but police say he sustained non-critical injuries.

The accident interrupted power for Snookers for more than a day while crews worked to clean up the scene and restore services.

A full investigation is underway.
