PROVIDENCE, RI – Emergency crews quickly responded to a fiery crash that occurred on Monday afternoon on Interstate 195 in Providence.
The incident took place in the westbound lanes near Exit 1D, to Gano Street and India Point.
Details pertaining to the extent of the damage incurred or any injuries sustained remain unknown at this time. However, RIDOT says that the crash resulted in the obstruction of the left lane of traffic, causing significant traffic delays in the area.
Firefighters were able to successfully extinguish the blaze that had consumed the vehicle and all lanes have since reopened.
