UXBRIDGE, MA- Wrong-way driver died after injured in a crash he caused on Route 146 Friday night, MassLive reports.
The driver of the 2006 Chrysler 300 was driving south on the northbound lanes towards Rhode Island. This was first brought to the police’s attention in a call around 10:20p.m. at night.
At about 10:25p.m., police received another call reporting that the southbound Chrysler had hit a 2019 Mazda CX5.
The at-fault driver was a 42 year-old man from Douglass. He passed away at the UMass Memorial Medical Center. The victim was a 57 year-old man from Worcester. He sustained minor injuries from the incident.
The crash occurred half a mile away from the Rhode Island border, and police kept the highway closed until 1a.m.
The investigation remains open.
