WARWICK, RI – A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries when his bike crashed at an intersection in Warwick on Sunday night, reports Warwick Post.
Police say the incident happened at 7:50 p.m. at the intersection of West Shore Road, or RI-117, and Main Avenue.
The investigation thus far indicates that the motorcyclist was travelling eastbound on Maine Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle during a left hand turn onto West Shore Road. The biker hit the curb, and the force of the collision threw him from his vehicle.
The motorcyclist was not wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash and suffered serious injuries, including head trauma. Medics transported him to Rhode Island Hospital.
Authorities identified the victim as Keith Burr from Warwick.
