Motorcyclist killed in single-vehicle Exeter crash

EXETER, RI – A 32-year-old man from South Kingstown died when his motorcycle crashed along a roadway in Exeter on Tuesday night, reports Patch.

Police say the incident happened around 9 p.m. on Sunderland Road near Route 102, or Ten Rod Road.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was headed north when he veered off of Sunderland and crashed into a telephone pole just past Route 102.

Medics transported the victim, identified as William Gavitt, to a hospital in Warwick, where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
