6 injured in single-vehicle crash in East Greenwich

EAST GREENWICH, RI – Six people were hospitalized when a vehicle collided with a tree early Friday morning in southeast Kent County.

10 WJAR reports that the crash happened around 12:15 a.m. near the intersection of Middle Road and South County Trail.

Police say there were three child occupants in the car and three adult occupants. The injuries ranged from mild to moderate.

Officials have not yet commented on what caused the vehicle to veer from the roadway and hit a tree. The crash remains under investigation.
