PAWTUCKET, RI – A flatbed tow truck crashed off of I-95 in Pawtucket May 11th, sending the two cars it carried crashing onto the street below.
WPRI reports that the crash happened around 3 a.m. when the tow truck left I-95, crashed through a fence, and landed in an embankment. The two cars the tow truck carried landed upside down on East Street.
The cars did not carry any occupants. The two occupants of the tow truck were taken to a local hospital for medical examination. It is unclear if they sustained injuries in the crash.
Police have not commented on the circumstances that caused the tow truck to leave the roadway.
