WARWICK, RI – Five people went to the hospital after two cars collided on the interstate in Warwick early Wednesday morning, WPRI 12 reports.
Police say the crash involved a Lexus sedan and a Nissan Pathfinder SUV. It happened around 1 a.m. on southbound I-95 south of I-295. For unknown reasons, one of the vehicles veered off of the roadway and then returned suddenly, hitting the other vehicle. The collision caused both vehicles to flip over.
Authorities say that the driver of the Lexus went to the hospital with serious injuries. Four people from the Nissan Pathfinder were transported with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation of the circumstances of the accident is underway.
